I definitely second that opinion. The people I've known that have bought computers at Best Buy seem to think the same thing. As far as Macs go, they have the best warranty policy imho, but it does cost quite a bit. ($400 for 3-4 years I think). If you pony up the money for one of their warranties, they treat you quite well, but if you don't pay for the warranty, they sell you the computer then forget about you.

Hope you can find something there that will help in your decision making!
Cool, thanks. Is there anything more general purpose though? That would compare basically any processor on the market (including AMD)?

If you feel like doing a lot of reading here's a good site to look at. It doesn't discuss the older Core 2 Duo though. 2010 Ultimate Shoppers’ Guide To Laptop Processors - ComputerShopper.com

If you need a benchmark for practically every CPU in existence then check out this sight. They have several different categories to help refine your search. AMD and Intel processors are included. PassMark Software - CPU Benchmark Charts

No, it's math. I normally use !=, but I figured that =/= is more universally recognized.

EDIT: Back on topic, have you found a laptop, OP?

I'm still in the money saving stage, but I do think I have a much better idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks for all the help, I will update whenever I do end up getting it.
