Not even close). | That's a good point, Jerry. And frankly, the burger I had at Five Guys was better than the last one I had at Chili's (Applebee's has the best burgers around here at a chain restaurant).
Actually, I think the biggest problems I had with the burger were 1) that it wasn't cooked on a charcoal grill and 2) that it didn't have a great deal of flavor. They clearly know how to make the patty right, since they got the texture right.

Some of the specific complaints make me wonder if there's some vast difference between my area of Florida and everywhere else.
Seasoned onions? Huh? On onion rings perhaps, but otherwise onions *are* seasoning.
Walk back to the counter and ask for more seasoning. They will give it to you in a container.
$16 is something like a pound of meat, drinks, and fries enough for three. I can easily spend the same or more at Burger King, McDonalds, In-and-Out, or Wendy's for less satisfaction.
If you happen to have places cheaper near you, where an adult can fill himself with burger and soda and fries for <$8 per person, then your area differs from mine.
The cheapest I can eat (and there's less food involves) is $6 per person at Popeye's... unless I switch to water or something. | perhaps i should clarify...even if fries are not seasoned (flavor enhancers)...they should have at least a little salt on them...not necessarily other seasoning. there wasnt enough salt. same with the onions...when you cook them, they should cook them with some salt to bring out the flavor. you know...season stuff as you go. that way the burger will have enough salt all the way through it and not just in specific spots.

| The 5 Guys around here is amazing. I have been to a location or two that was boring, but the one near my parent's house and the one in Chattanooga are both fantastic.
The best burger I've ever had was from Flip in Atlanta.

| I went to Flip in Atlanta.
There is actually a burger place here in Seattle that I enjoy more than Flip. Lunchbox Laboratory, about the same degree of gastronomic pretentiousness, but pulled off I daresay even better, faster, and more casually. Sorry, Richard Blais. |

You cannot deny it's awesomeness.

| Why am I cursed with the inability to fly around the country and try all these great burger places?
CGR should take a collection to buy me a bunch of plane tickets. I'll go try all these places and settle this discussion |

| I recently wrote a blog post on my non-cgr blog about Five Guys.
I thought it was fantastic. Of course, you have to remember that they franchise, which means the food quality can vary quite heavily from store to store.
I have eaten at two of them, and they were both delicious. Of course, I am a California boy through and through. In-N-Out is my favorite fast food burger, but that doesn't mean I would choose it over Five Guys every time. |

Not to mention that near almost every in-n-out there's a carls Jr, which is far superior.
Jerry, there are quite a few good ones in the PNW, I'd make that a good starting point. Plus we have many more diverse food choices to hit up while you're here. |

moonies puts their burgers on a hawaiian sweet roll type bread...it is sooooo good. | I haven't been to Moonies, but I have been to Mighty Fine. Mighty Fine is good as well, but I'd still rather hit up P Terry's or Hutt's most of the time. Are you still in the Dallas area? You should try Kinkade's |

I can easily fill up for under $5. |
