| Hey DT, well the DMB does do dotted eight, but they are not crisp or clear repeats. They are muddy and will not do a good strong type sound. The characteristic of analog delay repeats is that they are muddy, organic, warm, dark, distorted, whatever kind of word you choose. You are right in saying that digital delay is the crisp, clear delay. The DMB does do dotted eight repeats, but that just means the time value of the notes will come out as that, and has nothing to do with the tone or characteristic of the actual repeated notes.
Also the Echo Park is a great delay pedal, much more workable tapping wise in a live setting IMO, plus has so many great feature, I like it much more than the DD-7
hope that helps

| Ok cool, thanks. That "organic" sound I was hearing in the DMB clips is pretty nice, although it looks like the DD-7 and Echo Park do have an analogue mode (I'm sure it won't be quite as good as a real analog, but oh well). I'm mostly leaning to the DD-7 for the loop function (and because it looks like it will work better with my 1spot), but if I get too impatient I may just jump on that Echo Park.

| The Echo Park is the best compact digital delay pedal for the money. Sure the Boss DD-20 and the Line 6 DL4 are amazing digital pedals, but they're definitely not cheap... and from what I've read and experienced ... definitely not the most user-friendly. The "analog" mode is a modeler, and it does sound pretty good, but it's still digital. You will have to run the Echo Park on a seperate circuit than the 1Spot unless you don't mind a little excess noise. I used and loved the Echo Park for years until very recently when I went all analog. The intuitive tap tempo, the wide variety of modes, the option to turn trails on or off, great modulation effects... I would choose it any day over any other digital delay.
However I fell in love with the DMB and could never go back to digital, lol.

I'm a little confused because I have been assuming that only digital delays are going to do the crisp dotted eight, thus I've been looking for a digital delay. The Memory Boy, however, is analogue and looking at some videos online it has a dotted eighth setting and seems to do them quite well... what am I missing here? | If you end up deciding on the DMB, I can vouch for Gaetano, we've had several very pleasant transactions in the past I've bought both a VS H2O and a Line6 Verbzilla

| Does anyone know if using the 9v battery adapter on the 1Spot to power the Echo Park would prevent the issues normally caused by the 1Spot? I really don't want to have to use two different adapters...

| Good to know. Out of curiosity, how old is you EP? I've heard that it isn't as big of a problem on the newer ones as it was with the older ones.

| I now resurrect this thread to announce that I have just bought a used DD-7 off of ebay. I'm excited, but it probably wont come for a few weeks. In the meantime, I think I will build myself a tap-tempo...

| Ummmm just my thought....i love my Boss DD-7 with the FS-5U, i've played a Line6 DL4 and some other more expensive delays, yes it has more options and it's true bypassed BUT i'd still rather have my DD-7 for the sake of saving space and simplicity. After all, when am i ever gonna use ALL those delays ha. I'll stick with my DD-7. BTW, the Line6's Analog Delay model is better than the DD-7's if that's any matter. However i'm seriously considering the new Visual Sound Dual Tap Delay which IS ESSENTIALLY 2 DD-7's stacked side by side sharing a tap-tempo. Best idea ever for those galloping delays heard on great songs like the Desert Song which is one delay on dotted eighth and another delay on tripplets but with the same tapped in tempo. Think of all the possibilities!!!
