What movie is this?

I've been thinking about this for about a year now, and I've had no luck finding out the name of this movie. When I was a child (approximately 15 years ago), my older sister brought home a movie that I watched with her. It freaked me out. All I remember is that there was a family and the dad was either dating a woman or had just married a woman. Unknown to the family, this woman was an alien or a monster or something, she had a cave nearby, she hated music, and she was planning to eat(?) the family. I only vaguely remember two scenes from the movie.

#1: The daughter went to her room. I don't know if she was told to or if she did it voluntarily, but she went to her room and there was violin music coming from the room as though she was practicing. The alien-woman offered to go up to her, possibly to tell her to keep it down, and when she opened the door, the girl was gone and a tape player was playing the violin music. The monster-woman hit or smashed the tape player with what I think had become a non-human hand.

#2: This one is towards the end of the movie. All I remember is the woman's cave and that someone is walking through and finds people possibly wrapped up like a spider would wrap up an insect. Or maybe the people are just hanging vertically. I'm not sure. I think someone is freed. And I'm not sure about anything else.

Does anyone know the name of this movie?

I'm pretty sure it's Stepmonster. They used to show it on the Disney channel.
