C Sax: Tenor

last night i got given a new sax. and its a tenor in the key of C.

its all beautiful and shiny and its black.

the thing that makes it all different is that it is in the key of C. Tenors are normally in Bb.
so ive been given the opportunity to play it at church for a few months as the maker wants someone with experience who plays in the church scene to play it for a bit to see how it goes.

apparently C saxs havent been made since the 1930s.

so here is a couple of pictures.

Whoo, that's nice and clean. How does it sound? Like a normal tenor? Or does it sound a bit more altoish?

I just don't like Sopranos. They sound like a cross between Kenny G and a dying goose. Or maybe Kenny G playing a dying goose.

i havent really heard kenny g, but what i have he is a pretty smooth player. my main passion is playing in worship, so smooth is pretty good. in new zealand there's not many sax players in churches.

There is nothing like the sound of the saxophone, in a church worship group - So uplifting!
