I listen to very little new secular music - the main reason? I'm getting the train to work at the moment so I'm never in the car with the radio on. Been that way for about 9 months now, so when I do hear the radio I don't recongise any of the songs! When I move back to Canberra and use the car more often I'll get back into listening more stuff I imagine.

Nice logical progression. +1

Classic rock? Older stuff?
Thank you for the +1.

I listen to it all, like I said, as long as the message is positive. I have a preference to heavy/metal, and am currently VERY into Kutless. I have almost learned all the songs from their first album on guitar (with tabs taken from this site!) and love that they are NOT afraid to say Jesus, and even better, how He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life!!! I have heard many classic songs on WJTL FM that really rock. I just love artists that have a passion for Jesus AND music. It is a platform for ministry, mostly for edification. I do believe in music being evangelical, but that deserves it's own thread. And it is no where near as effective as Christians who walk the walk. Myself included...with that, I do pray to be as effective as possible.

I take the bus to work a lot and I listen to podcasts of Ravi Zacharias (apologetics). An amazing mind!

Our Ivy League schools teach that morality is relative. And then when the graduates practice on Wall Street what we teach them in class, we put them behind bars. - (Ravi Zacharias paraphrased)

Born to die. Born again to live.

In the quest for historically accurate musings of great men, no creation has bestowed more frustration upon its creator than the internet. – Thomas Jefferson (1877)

I listen to a mix of new Christian and Secular music, with a pretty heavy lean toward Christian music --- however, I dislike much of what's popular on Christian radio stations because it's, honestly, dull lyrically and boringly repetitious musically. I mainly have been listening to worship music recently, which, even if sometimes musically repetitive, at least has another focus to it that I can jive with.

As for Secular music, I tend to listen to very little recent stuff --- when I say I listen to "new" stuff, it's just older stuff that's new to me . I listen to '60s, '70s, and '80s for the most part with a tiny mix of stuff from the last twenty years.
