Right now my setup drops into my mixer (A&H Z436) and then I pull a TRS direct out to the motu & presonus. The nice thing about that is that it's fairly simple from a routing perspective, and the board doesn't color the signal other than the pre-amp.
For the recording I just linked to, that's almost the exact setup. I'm not sure it's Z436, but it is A&H. The sub-mixes are through the aux channels.


Here's a recording we did a week ago at practice through a Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Mixer. I did overdub the bass (because I messed up), and a distorted rhythm guitar on the chorus & bridge (since we had no one to play it). This recording has a lot of noise on the lead vocals and acoustic guitar due to low signal levels.
