| NCAA Football 2010/2011 Well, I came on fully expecting to find a thread already, but clearly I am one of the few to be obsessed with this sport. Here are the preseason rankings:
1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Boise State
4. Oregon
5. Texas
6. Florida
7. TCU
8. Iowa
9. Nebraska
10. Wisconsin
11. Georgia Tech
12. Southern California
13. Penn State
14. Virginia Tech
15. Miami FL
16. Oklahoma
17. Oregon State
18. Cincinnati
19. North Carolina
20. Arkansas
21. Louisiana State
22. Utah
23. Florida State
24. West Virginia
25. Georgia
Overall I think some teams are way overranked, like Oregon for example who suspended Jeremiah Masoli, and he's no longer their starting qb, and TCU seems pretty high. Also, the fact that SC is even ranked is laughable, considering they can't win a NC or even play in a bowl game this year. |

| Haha about USC. While I agree that it's funny that they're ranked. They will still play. They have to be factored into the system somehow. |

| Okay after doing some more digging, I found the USA Coache's Poll and USC are not ranked at all, which makes a heck of lot more sense.
1.Alabama (55)
2.Ohio State (4)
3.Florida
4.Texas
5.Boise State
6.Virginia Tech
7.TCU
8.Oklahoma
9.Nebraska
10.Iowa
11.Oregon
12.Wisconsin
13.Miami (Fla.)
14.Penn State
15.Pittsburgh
16.LSU
17.Georgia Tech
18.North Carolina
19.Arkansas
20.Florida State
21.Georgia
22.Oregon State
23.Auburn
24t.Utah
24t.West Virginia
Okay, yes this poll makes more sense, because it leaves USC off, because what they do this season ultimately doesn't matter, but umm, the fact that Wisconsin is placed higher than Penn State is seriously delusional. I am a huge Big 10 supporter, but that is just wrong. At least it fixed Oregon being that far up. But umm, Florida at no. 3? What the heck? They lost almost everyone on the offense this year! How? Also, Boise State should be higher. Iowa is also ranked too high in this poll. Penn State should be the only other Big 10 school behind Ohio State, then Iowa, then Wisconsin. |

| I hate that they do any ranking before November. Still, Roll Tide.

| No. 2, 13, 14, and 15 all played last night:
#2Ohio State vs Marshall: Ohio State completely crushed Marshall 45-7
#13 Miami vs Florida A&M: Miami crushed Florida 45-0
#14 USC vs Hawaii: USC beats Hawaii 49-36 (closer than the score indicates)
And in the first upset of the season:
#15 Pitt falls to unranked Utah 27-24 in overtime! Great game!
And South Carolina Gamecocks put on a show and thoroughly route Southern Miss 41-13, and look very, very good. They could break into the rankings if they keep it up. |

| Nevada had a good game last night. That made me happy.
I am also very excited that they are headed for the Mountain West. For one thing, their natural rival, UNLV is already in the MWC. Another bonus is that it is a stronger conference than the WAC. Woot. |

| I had been looking forward to the start of football season because UNC has some major talent...and apparently some major infractions as well.
Oh well...should've known better...right? |

That was a heck of a game right there, Boise State and V Tech. Kellen Moore showed a ton of composure on that last drive, and I kinda felt like Tyrod Taylor gave up on that last drive. Anyway, that finish was exhibit A to why I love college football!

| Oregon has looked really good in the second half. A couple of interceptions in the third quarter and a great running attack in the fourth. Texas had a good win and Texas Tech is killing New Mexico. A pretty good day as far as I'm concerned. |

| I know Ryan Freeland doesn't post on CGR much anymore, but I know if he did he'd be posting about how JMU (a Div I-AA school) beat #13 ranked Virgina Tech. |

We stormed OUR football field after we won and it was just a great day all around campus. I'm proud to be a JMU DUUUUUUKE!!
