I've been using an unmodded DS-1 at church. Sounds pretty good and I see them all around.

Mod it...it'll make you wonder how Boss manages to sell stock DS-1s...

I've modded one in the past using indyguitarist mods. I would dive in and do it, but it belongs to another guy at church, and he doesn't feel there's a need to. I'm actually going to do a few mods on my Classic 30 to make the drive channel more usable, and I'll eventually use that for my dirt. Until then, I'm actually enjoying using a stock DS-1. It sounds very generic and plain, just like most the songs we play at church.

I was definitely thinking about getting the CTO and running it with my OCD....I figured I would set the CTO up to be slightly dirty, and then turn the drive up on the OCD for a dirtier tone. Then I would run them together for a solo.
