I did not know that.

I was talking about this album specifically as I have it so I knew it was on there. Amazon.com: Unexpected Gifts: Various Artists: Music

None of them are new. They've all been done to death.

True. But, this is being marketed as something it really isn't: the first Newsboys Christmas album. For one thing, by precedent, an album needs more than six songs, unless those songs are absolute epic masterpieces. Second, as we've brought up, it isn't like Tait has never done Christmas music before. He just happens to be releasing this batch under the banner of his new band.

Yeah, I'll probably not be biting on this. But, then, I never buy Christmas music anyway; I hear plenty of it on the radio around Christmastime, and I never really want to listen to it any other time of the year.

My wife and I really like Christmas music. And I love the Newsboys, well, used to. I got nothing against Michael Tait, but if you ask me, it's not the newboys anymore. They should've just started all over. I think keeping the name has more to do with business than the band. I'm not fanatic and don't know all the ins and outs of what is going on behind the scenes, but it doesn't add up to me.

Third Day had a really good Christmas Album and we have one from Casting Crowns. I highly recommend them. Yeah, some songs get done over and over, but some of the ways they get done are just good. And I have just an aside, it has been told to me on numerous occasions I'm related to Franz Gruber. hehehehehehe My Great Grandmother had it played at her funeral because of this. Silent Night that is of course. That and 10 dollars might get me a coffee at starbucks I guess, but it's fun to know something like that.

But I won't be buying this, Newsboys died after the Million Pieces era. I miss Shine . . .

So am I.

It's a very special time of the year, and the words of a lot of carols and lyrics make it known just how special the coming into the world of the Savior is.
