| Attack, if you're thinking about Line 6's you might (you might not) have to rethink wattages. In general a 30W solid-state amp has less useful volume than a 30W valve amp. Stand a 15W valve amp beside a 30W solid-state amp and you could well find the 15W comes across as louder.
(It's to do with the way the 2 different amp types slide into distortion as they approach their maximum output... everything else being equal, the valves are still making useful, musical-to-the-human-ear sounds while the solid-state devices are making horrible, nonmusical distortion.)
