That's a massive over-simplification. The world around us has a huge influence on our lives and it is foolish to discount it. Instead, we should, using discernment, assess the influence the world has on us and respond accordingly. Obviously, having grown up in a Sufi Muslim household, that philosophy and religion would play a strong role in his development. And there are aspects of the teaching in other religions that can shine a light on Biblical truths.

I've had many other things than the three you listed inspire me to consider my faith. I've had Pastors make me question my faith. I believe you can find God in "everywhere we look" just like Aaron states in "Allah, Allah, Allah".
