Baked potatoes may be faster from the microwave, but they are far superior from an oven.

Nachos are the same deal.

I honestly eat most of my leftovers cold. If I reheat leftovers, it is often just enough to take the chill off.

As I learn to cook more and more, I find myself using the microwave less and less. The one thing I use it most for it making steamed milk (if you can come up with a 30 second way of doing it on the stove, I will make you a latte).
Also, on the leftover rice argument: leftover rice goes in a frying pan with sesame oil, egg, soy sauce, and oyster sauce.

But then it doesn't taste the same anymore. As an Asian person, turning every single batch of leftover rice into fried rice would become rather tiresome. And I have a much better fried rice recipe.

Fried rice that only includes egg is something I'm not a fan of.

But of course (should have added an "etc." at the end of that). I am more adventurous than that.

I suppose, being not Asian, I don't really have rice all that often.

One thing that will rock your fried rice is Chinese sausage. Fattening. But it's seriously da bomb.

The other thing is a secret sweet chili paste that upgrades fried rice into flavor insanity mode. But I'm not sure if I'm prepared to divulge that yet.

So, we're thinking about going microwave-less due to counter space issues. We have a convection toaster oven that we have been trying to use for most stuff, but we've yet to phase the microwave completely out. The only thing that will be difficult, though I'll be more happy about, is dealing with our hectic schedules. I'm tri-vocational, which makes planning times to cook a proper meal can get crazy. My wife is similar. I'm used to planning ahead and thawing in the refrigerator, but she is quite fond of frozen meals. However, I need my counter space back. I'm a jealous lover.

Frozen meals aren't food anyway. Ditch the microwave.
