I did some quick research and actually couldn't find a place where Obama himself actually said that he wanted access, so sorry to misinform. But there is a Senate bill (S.3480), headed up by the liberals, that would give Obama the authority to do that. That's what I was referring too. Sorry for the misinformation.

McCain supporter and UHC filibusterer Joe Liberman (the bill's sponsor) is now a "liberal"?

Potential loss of freedom aside, what impact would this have on world trade if implemented? I know most major websites have servers in other countries as well, but what kind of worldwide impact would result from shutting off internet access to most of the US?
