Emergency Surgery

I worked nights last night and when I woke up this morning my family was gone. I called dad's cell and he told me mom was in the ER because her pain had been really bad this morning and at that point he was dropping off her morning meds because she had been in the ER since early that morning and at this point needed them.

My sister had dropped him off this morning, and shorting after I got off the phone with him she arrived back home. About 10 minutes later he called back and said mom was going in for emergency surgery.

Mom took my car this morning when she drove to the hospital. I have no way of getting there now. He has his cell phone off. I know and can find out absolutely nothing until he calls. I am worried and completely helpless here at home.

Please pray everything turns out okay.

I dont even know if she is in surgery yet.

Can you call the hospital? They won't be able to tell you anything, but perhaps they can get a message to your dad to call you. Or if the hospital has a chaplain, perhaps they can find out something for you?

Thanks a lot everyone.

I ended up calling my neighbor and some other family. They came into town and we all ended up going to the hospital together. When we arrived there we still had to wait quite a long time before we actually found out anything.

The surgery lasted a lot longer than it was supposed to because of some other things they found but she has a bed in the hospital now. Being that her surgery was high risk she is being kept in the hospital for a few days just so they can monitor her closely. She made it through it though.

The surgeon seems to think that she will probably be able to come home within the week if everything goes well.

She will have to have another surgery or two after this in a few months after she fully recovers.

I am going to visit her again this evening.
