Prayer for my wife's grandfather.

He fell and broke his C-1 vertebrae last night. The spinal cord is NOT damaged at this point, but they are haloing him today. The family could use prayer as it is my wife's father's dad. Repentance and salvation would be nice for her dad as always, but for his dad, I have no idea of his salvific state. (He is what I would refer to as a practicing cultural catholic, he follows the ritual and goes to mass but not because he is Irish, and good Irish of his background do these things.) However, sometimes glimmers of faith seem to shine through in the oddest of places.

Anyway, his health has not been good and this is hard on my wife. We also don't want to run into my wife's dad or his mistress while we go visit. We could really use some prayer.

Saw him quite a bit over the weekend. He is doing good. My wife said the care is excellent. He is expected to recover fully. Somewhere in the 3-6 month range with the halo on.

Family stuff went really badly. The mistress was there and we saw her for the first time and found out that he had moved in with her prior to filing for divorce, had been making my mother in law pay "rent" for him to live with his mistress, etc. May God judge them and be the protector of the abandoned.
