I don't normally look to PluggedIn for sensible attitudes when it comes to entertainment, but I really like this interview they just published:

I like that she points out that gravitating toward one extreme (proudly avoiding any and all secular entertainment) can be just as harmful and misguided as the other (throwing standards to the wind altogether).
And as a Christian who's interested in screenwriting, I appreciated her point about the importance of mastering one's ability in order to effectively bring complex issues of faith and religion into one's writing, rather than allowing poor-quality work to cheapen what may otherwise be a worthy message.
