bulk strings, cases, boxes, etc...

I religiously use Elixir Polywebs on my acoustics, and DR Pure Blues/Tite Fits on my electric, and I'm looking to buy in bulk. 3 packs, 5 packs, 10 packs, 12 packs, 15 packs, maybe even 20 packs. Anything that will save me some money on the boxes. I seem to have picked the two brands of strings of which nowhere sells cases/boxes/etc. And before anyone mentions it, I'm not even remotely considering other brands, even if it means not buying in bulk. :P I've found what works for me, and I love it, just trying to save some money if possible. The ONLY place I've found was 12 packs of elixirs on amazon, and they were exactly the same price as individual packs. :/ I know Martin, D'Addario, and other sells cases that can get you as low as $2.50-$3 a pack, why can't I find this for my brands...

because you tortured puppies as a child.

sorry, not a clue, some companies do it, some dont.

have you tried emailing or phoning them direct?

maybe they'll do a bulk pack for you, or sell you a retail pack of 50 or whatever.

I got a 1/2 gross of D'Addario madium sets (thats 72 sets as part of a bulk buy organised by another forum a while back. they came out at under $3 a set.......

You can get a little price break by ordering in bulk from: Elixir Strings • Shoreline Music
Shipping is always free.

Other than that, I've seen some Elixir 3 packs on stringsandbeyond.com but it was nanoweb only.
I've never seen DR with a bulk pricing anywhere. You might try to get in touch with stringsandbeyond and see if they could offer you something there. They're great to deal with.

yeh, shoreline is definitely great, I've been ordering Elixir's from them for a while. $13/pack plus free shipping, not a bad deal at all. He's got a nice personal touch to his business, always sends me a personal email to confirm shipping, and I think he's a believer too.

1-2 sets: $12.95 each
3-5 sets: $12.45 each
6-11 sets: $12.00 each
12+ sets: $11.50 each

Buying 12+ would be a decent amount of savings. Maybe he would come up with another rate if you bumped it on up a lot higher. It wouldn't hurt to ask. I know there has to be a bottom line somewhere though...and maybe that 11.50 is it.

There's definitely a personal touch there. There is usually even a handwritten "thank you" or whatever and signature on the invoice too.
He's definitely a believer. I've been dealing with him for years. There are some others working there too now it seems, but I don't really know them. The service has still been great.

If there's anything I can't get from him, I get it from stringsandbeyond. They are also exceptional.

I'm curious why you need 3 low E strings. I'd think that would be the last string anybody broke. hm.

Single Strings
You will pay the same for those 3 strings as you would for one entire set.
That's assuming you're talking about Elixir. The others are cheaper than Elixir, obviously....but still..

Yeah, you'd think so huh? Well, I'm a newbie, had never changed strings before and somehow managed to bust three of them before I figured out what I was doing.

So now I have three nearly compete sets of D'Addario strings that are basically useless.

I have 4 low E strings - 3 x .046 and 1 x .042 - and I'd be happy to send you 3 of them for free as long as you're not located in some foreign land.
Yes, I'm serious. I've had these strings for YEARS...no, they are not rusty, they're brand new Ernie Ball and GHS brand...and I don't know what to do with them.
PM me if interested.
EDIT: actually, I have 5 low E strings. I found what I think is a .049 D'Addario (brass ball end).
