Getting married August 14th and my fiance and I made the decision not to hire a dj for the reception (rather, our budget made that decision for us haha).

Soooo it has become my job to assemble a list of appropriate songs and create an iPod playlist.

I don't know where to look. The reception is going to be in the middle of the afternoon, but there might be some dancing anyway.

So if any of you have suggestions for songs I'd really appreciate it. No preference as far as style goes although my fiance and I both like oldies quite a lot. Just nothing too crazy.. our families are crazy enough.

"Something in the Way She Moves" - James Taylor
"Solar System" - Bill Mallonee & Vigilantes of Love
"I Will Follow You into the Dark" - Death Cab for Cutie
"Gotta Have You" - The Weepies

If you want something that people can dance to that's not crappy top40 pop try Phoenix, Friendly Fires, or We Are Scientists.

Just search wedding reception playlist and a lot of dj's post what their song lists.

Just remember that to place the songs in order so it won't clear the dance floor. Such as putting a real slow song right after something like a group song(e.g. cupid shuffle)
