| Batch cropping images on Mac G'day, so I've got a mac, and I need to batch crop a whole bunch of images in exactly the same spot. Any help? Preview won't do it, and I'm not sure about iphoto. There's over 100 images, so it'd be great not to have to do it all individually. |

| What about imagemagick, though it's not easy to use, I think, haven't use it myself. It's command-line app.

| You could always download the trial for Aperture or Lightroom. Both will do what you want. |

| Technically, Preview can do it... but you have to use Automator to access that functionality..
Automator is amazing for this. It's free and it's already built in. Give it a shot. |

| Cheers for the help!
Gustin, do you know of any tutorials to make automator do that? |

| So automator has a batch crop action, but it always crops in the center. You can't define where to crop from... I need to be able to do that, and I can't find where to do that in automator. Nothing is turning up online either. Any help would be appreciated.
Otherwise, ApparentlyNothing, will they both crop a defined location as well as dimensions? |

| They're all the same size. Just making sure I can offset the crop dimensions. Say, 1280x800 starting at the bottom right corner? |

The way cropping works in those apps, you don't see anything about pixels, just the ratio of your crop (1x1, 2x3, 4x5, etc). You only worry about pixels when you export the finished product. |

| Okay, after a long time searching, I was finally able to find a program that does what I want it to do, and for free!
Phatch.
You can check it out here: Phatch - Photo Batch Processor
I searched the forum and found a .dmg for it here: Support: Install on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard)
I just played around with it for a couple of seconds and got it to do what I needed it to do.
Seriously, I don't know why automator and preview can't just do what this does to crop the files where you want them to be cropped. Same style of program, just different abilities. |

| I realise you guys are probably not following this anymore, but in case you are, here's a little sample of why I needed this. YouTube - Flip test.m4v
This is just a test. The other stuff is too big for iMovie to crop itself, but yeah. |
