New Disciple Song

Disciple posted a new song on youtube titled You Don't Own Me. Kind of reminds me of Red and Skillet with the strings added to their sound.

I'm not really a big fan, but of course, I've not liked a lot of their more recent stuff. The older stuff though, I really got into that.

Meh, doesn't sound that great. Though I really am not a huge Disciple fan, the only albums I really like are Scars Remain and Back Again, and both of those are their heaviest albums. So something softer like this really doesn't appeal to me that much.

If this is their new direction, then at least then they've quit ripping off Pantera. Not that I dislike this band, but the similarity is incredibly striking.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.

I agree. I actually think Scars remain is their best album.

As for the new song, I think its decent but a little too obvious who they're trying to sound like. Haven't heard the rest of the album yet so its too early to judge.

I've heard two other songs from them live. I wasn't exactly focusing on how good it sounded, more just rocking out. I don't think they were like this song. I'm actually really disappointed with this song. It doesn't even sound like Disciple. I'm not a fan of Skillet, so the fact that this song belongs on a Skillet album doesn't make me very happy.

This is however the only song I've heard off this album, so I agree that it's way too early to judge the album as a whole.
