I've read that the DD-7 does sound better. The DD-5 does have external tap. The big advantage of the DD-7 is the extra features it has over the DD-5 like warp mode.

yea, the only difference is the added features of the dd 7. i personally like the dd 5 more, its simpler and easier to use

The DD7 does feature many different options for the quality of the repeats though, while the DD5 does not.

I've always thought the analog mode on the DD-7 sounded pretty darn good, which to me would be worth the extra bones.

I use a DD-20 for .8th/digital stuff, and a MXR Carbon Copy for the more atmospheric stuff and some leads and whatnot. Love the Carbon Copy.

So I figured out what delay I want to get. I WAS going to get a line 6 dl4 but the problem I had was I still needed a reverb pedal as well so the cost of verb and delay was going to be about 350 ish depending on where I bought. So for that price I started looking at the line 6 m9 and it seems so perfect. 3 patches gives me the ability to layer two delays and still have some verb on the end plus i get the added modulations and stuff. I probably won't run the drives or anything since I have an ITS8 overdrive and a modded crybaby so I'll just keep that in my fx loop and use only the post fx. Plus I read that the drives on the dl4 were kind of boring. plus I don't like the idea of something so digital between my guitar and the amp. The FX Loop is another thing. I'm totally stoked. What do you guys think

1) your signal is going through something digital. It really doesn't matter where. Is your loop parallel or serial?
2) Are you using a crybaby in the loop?
3) Drives on a dl-4? What? its a delay, not a drive.

The m9 is probably a far better choice. I strongly dislike dl-4s because of how many I have personally known owners of that they broke down on. I know a few guys with the m9 and no complaints.

I believe he meant to say the drives on the m9.

confused me there. I have heard the drives on the m9 are rather surprisingly good for a digital unit, so long as you approach it with an open mind.

I meant drives on M9. that's cool someone thinks they are good. regardless i'm buying it for the post fx section.
and I don't run my crybaby in the fx loop. what I meant by something digital is I just don't like the idea of that big ol multi fx between my guitar pickups and the amp. I like that section to be as simple as possible and after the amp is where I get crazy with cool and ampbient fx especially cause i have the option to bypass the loop on the amp.
