A car with a manual transmission may be more fun to drive if you know how to operate it properly, but people will pick the automatic because it is easier to drive.

Like Cam42 said, it's a lot about personal preference. I prefer mac hardware and software over the huge variety in microsoft/pc. I find it easier to use and more reliable. I've been happier with my Mac/Apple hardware than any other manufacturer and that's why I stick with them (even though the computers come at a premium cost).
I guess it's just different, because for someone who grew up with Windows and PCs, the words difficult and PC/Windows don't go together at all. I don't consider PCs to be difficult in any way, I am fairly computer savvy, but still, if you know what you're doing, I don't consider PCs to be hard to use or unreliable. You just again, have to do the research and make sure to get a good PC.

As many BSOD's as I got with Windows 98 for doing anything semi-complex, it will never compare to the monstrosity of an OS that ME was. I'd probably take 98 over Vista, now that I think about it... That OS was a tank. Sure, there were BSOD's out the wazoo, but hey, it ran just about anything.

I was talking about modern day Windows 7. Which is what you'd get by default if you bought a brand new PC.

Nowhere do you mention Windows 7. You do, in fact, mention growing up with Windows. Which implies you've had experience with multiple versions of Windows. Possibly ME.

I grew up on PC. I used them until I was 28 (about 2 years ago). I used to build them from scratch. finally I just got tired of building and just wanted a computer, and every mass produced PC I wasn't satisfied with.

And I don't want to do research any more. I know that I can go to an apple store and any computer I buy will be built with high quality and last a long time. I've had my macbook for two years now. I still get 5 hours of battery life from it and it still runs just as snappy as the day I bought it. I've never been able to say that about any PC i've owned, whether custom built or made from scratch.

Other people may have different experiences. And if you're happy with your PC great. But I think Apple makes better computers overall and it is worth the increase in price. Are they perfect, no.

Allow me to clarify, I wasn't saying all versions of Windows were reliable, I was just saying I'm very used to, and comfortable with Windows, because it's the only OS I grew up with. So I'm not just a newbie who started using Windows for the first time last week. And I didn't make it clear, but I was talking about modern day Windows (specifically Windows 7) when I said Windows was reliable, and not very difficult to use.

I agree that Windows 7 is more relevent here than an OS used 10-12 years ago.....

My point was, he never mentioned he was specifically talking about Windows 7, and he said that-
ah screw it, here's my previous post: http://www.christianguitar.org/forum...2/#post3571975

I reread it. I do see where you were coming from mentioning Windows ME. Oh man, that was an awful piece of work. I can't even think of a good reason to even attempt to defend it. haha.

But think about it, since we're talking about modern day PCs being unreliable, I wouldn't be talking about a terrible, outdated OS, I'd obviously be talking about, you know, the OS you'd actually get if you bought a new PC. I'm just glad Microsoft figured it out with Windows 7.

Well I think this thread has run its course. No one is talking about the I'm a Mac commercials anymore.
