Where did you find that info? I couldn't find much info on the guitar... does it have control buttons on it?

Just google "rock band 3 guitar" I forgot what site it was on but I think it was "engadget" or something.

Rock Band 3 will actually teach authentic guitar parts, even down to which string to play the notes on. I applaud them, although I'm not sure how many people will actually dig into this new gameplay mode.
You know, if they have a mode with real guitar parts to it, there is a good chance I might actually play a guitar based game...

Too bad they don't have a midi pickup and use that as a controller... You could use the midi pickup to determine correct string and fret, and I could put it on a guitar I already have...

One of the rock band peripherals does feature a midi out... but I understand what you mean, it would make a lot of sense to have a simple midi pickup, also featuring the standard control buttons, that could be placed on any guitar.

I believe there is a midi pickup type of thing for rb3, although I think it's more for keyboards/drums from the sounds of it.
