Upcoming comic book movies before 2013
Movie Talk: 'Batman 3' Joins Packed Summer 2012 Season

There are a lot of comic book movies that are going to be released in the near future, like Captain America, Thor, Avengers, Spider-man franchise restart and the second Star Trek.

Also, the next POTC, Transformers, Cars, Kung Fu Panda and Harry Potter.

Star Trek is or was a comic book before it was a show?
Also, another Cars? Why make a sequel to the worst Pixar film? And why is it in a comic book movie thread?

I don't know. I just mentioned them because they were included in the same article that talks about comic book to movie adaptations.

I guess their genres appeal to a particular kind of audience(?).

There is Norse mythology in that movie, IIRC. On the other hand, it could be just a modern interpretation of an ancient myth because the character of Hulk is introduced into the story.
