Coheed and Cambria

So, their new CD came out three weeks ago.
Has anyone bought it, or heard the songs on it?
I got mine early and I have listened to it almost nonstop since then. It took a listen to two to get used to, but I really think they did an amazing job with coming up with a very catchy, yet diverse, album. I also think it is light years ahead of No World For Tomorrow.

Amazing. Please, go and buy it.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

Coheed released a new single a little over a month ago.

It is super poppy, and really catchy, but there is some rough language, just to warn you.

I feel like they are sorta getting back to their roots in a way. I was unsure about how I felt about the song at first, but after a second listen through love it.

Perhaps what alarmed me the most is learning that this album isn't concept. There is no story. So, that made me a little sad. But, its OK. The album will still be great.

I liked that video you linked in the post before this one. I admit, it doesn't sound ANYTHING at all like the C&C that I have heard. I only know a couple of albums though and they were both proggy metalish.

Yeah, the album, on the whole, is a bit of a departure. But, most of the songs do have a more proggy element to them.

I've been listening to it nonstop. Some of the songs have moved me to tears, especially because of the subject matter. The whole album sort of follows a linear progression of Claudio's life changes: moving to Manhattan and having trouble writing, the beauty of exploring a new place, finding out he's having a son and how that changes life, etc.

This song is amazing, it was written when he found out he was having a son:

Something very passionate, and beautiful, about the song and the sentiments expressed.
