Dead Space 2

There's a Teaser up on XBL Marketplace and (subsequently) Youtube. Be advised it's a lot better with full quality and a bigger screen via Live:
YouTube - Dead Space 2 Trailer / PS3 - 360

Now, according to a Gameinformer article published in January:

- Isaac Clarke's mind has been permanently altered by The Marker, and the game begins with him in a hospital.

- It's been 3 years since the events of the first game, and this one will take place on a large civilian spaceport/space station (named The Sprawl) which includes churches, hospitals, living quarters, etc. and plenty of people.

- If I'm reading the article right, they have purposefully made this one less scary because "people were - believe it or not - too scared playing Dead Space".

- Isaac takes on a role similar to Ripley in Aliens, in that he's the only survivor of the Ishimura incident and people will therefore listen to him. This time, he'll send others to go run errands, leaving more interesting and/or "intuitive" tasks for the player.
As a result, his character is supposed to be fleshed out much more, and "he'll have a voice".

- The Church of Unitology will play a more significant role in the story.

- The kinesis module has been fine-tuned and (supposedly) improved.

- Instead of just jumping from wall to wall in zero G, Isaac can now maneuver more freely.

- Upgrades to armor will be more distinct.

- As with any sequel, there will be new weapons and enemies. These include a Javelin Gun that pins enemies to walls if fired correctly, mutilated/infected children which attack in massive numbers (Hello Force Gun and Pulse Rifle!), and another enemy type which works in packs (raptors from JP anyone? )

- There should be an online co-op mode, where players work together (a bit like in Left 4 Dead) to get from place to place and survive. This is a big plus to me personally.

Needless to say, I'm stoked! This will probably be the first time I get to pre-order a game.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

I've only just now played the first one haha. But I really enjoyed it so I'll probably have to pick this up.

Still working one beating the first one on impossible. It's going down. I love a good challenge and that setting makes it really interesting.

You should play the game - you could probably find it for $20 or less in stores (even less online).

Honestly I'd get a bit jumpy to play... I stopped playing half life pretty quickly because it was less enjoyable and to stressful.

The easy difficulty on the first one is a shooting gallery. It still made me jump a few times but deaths were far and few between. And I've heard the easy mode in dead space 2 will be even more of a tourist mode for those more interested in the story.

Is Dead Space 2 The Coolest Game Of The Week?

I do agree with the comparisons to God of War III. There are portions of the game where you use ventilation shafts to quickly travel through Mt. Olympus. The part where Isaac is jetting down to the space station thing is reminiscent of that. Looks just as nice.
