Really, Bobbi summed up what I would have said.
Ryan, I think you made the right choice here. I've been in a similar situation recently where I was the target of a cyberbullying incident. There were about four or five kids at school targeting me over something they really shouldn't have, but around 20 or 30 other friends, some of which I'm not very close to at all, came to back me up.
I also agree with bread man; I don't really think the message was necessary, but there is one thing you can learn from this.
When you're going through trouble in life, you realize who your real friends are; they're the ones who will support you no matter what's bringing you down.
