... why do I know this...

Even if viewership drops and they go off the air for a while, they can come back in a few years without any problem, because even if none of the people previously involved come back, all of the parts of the show are replaceable.

I don't like that. Stories need endings. Without them, there's no character resolution, and the stakes are always very low (oh look, the Doctor's up against the Daleks for the 597th time, I wonder what's gonna happen).

Well, that, and from the 2(?) episodes I've seen, it's too campy for my taste.

I am sorry I have been a pretentious ass who likes to brag about how she only watches "serious" TV.

I have been quietly watching the show for the last month and just finished the Tenth Doctor's run. This is a fun show. I'm enjoying it.

Glad you've seen the light -- it's a whole lot of fun! Who's your favorite doctor thus far, if you have one?

Well, I mean, I've only seen Nine and Ten and a couple episodes of Eleven, so I don't feel entirely qualified to judge whi---

just kidding, it's definitely Ten.

Tennant is awesome. He's definitely my favorite, though Matt Smith really grew on me, and I really liked him a ton by the end of this last series.

I on't even care about The Doctor when they have given us characters like Captain Jack and Strax.

They did . They haven't announced who yet, but I think it'll happen at the end of this year, around the Christmas Special.

I read one article that thinks A certain character is leaving but the same person will remain on the cast as a different character.

I've also read that nobody will confirm this information officially--so who knows.

I'm fairly certain there was an official thing ages ago that it was happening at Christmas...

Well, I haven't seen anything--so far it's just a rumour--it might happen, it might not.

This link is the most recent official statement I've seen-if you have a more recent one--please share it.

...won't tell if ... leaving Doctor Who - BBC Newsbeat

It's probable what I read were just well perpetuated rumours.

They could be--there is a lot of that online.
But sometimes the more something is denied, the more likely it's true.

So who knows?

I can't remember where, but I also read an announcement with interviews with Clara's actress herself that said it. Maybe it was fake, but I remember it seeming legit.

Huh.
