Action :D About a week ago i was dinking around with the action on my bass trying to get rid of that annoying click that i got on the low strings when i put in a hard attack. So i raised up the action on the E and A strings and left the D and G strings where they are. Before i divulge the actual action on my bass i want to ask you guys...
What actions do you use? I know a lot of people use a sloped sort of action, gradually getting lower with the smaller strings. That's not how mine ended up, although i might change it a bit.
Now i'll divulge my info (I'm pretty proud of it because i looked up recommended bass actions and 1/8 kept popping up. Mine is no where close to that
E and A strings: 5/64ths
D and G strings: 3/64ths
I used a Varnier Caliber to measure, since my dad's a locksmith and we had one on hand, so i'm pretty sure about the accuracy.
I'll ask again for the people who skipped the middle of my post.
What actions do you use, what kind of style do you play with said action, etc?
