Jerry Jones' Outburst

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones mocks Bill Parcells, Tim Tebow in video - ESPN Dallas

should jerry be punished?

i dunno. part of me thinks that, he is in a bar with "friends" and just speaking his mind. the other part of me thinks that he should know better than that. he knows he is a celeb in dallas and amongst all the cowboy fans out there, and should know better than to get drunk and talk about football that way.

As a life-long Cowboys fan who actually despises the current owner...I'd love to see him nailed for this one.

the thing about it is, he didnt really say anything. he only said 3 things. (im not a jj apologist either...i wish he would hire a gm and coach worth something...the cowboys would have been winning all this time if he did this right after jimmy)

1. romo is a miracle
2. tebow wont play (which many teams in the league think also)
3. brought big bill in so they could build a stadium.

That was the biggest non-news I've ever seen... Other than cat get's stuck in tree, boy scout tried to get cat down, boy scout falls and scrapes his elbow. (Not joking that was on a local station).

I thought everyone in Texas sat around the bar and talked about football? I don't see a big deal being made about this. If anything, I'm sure Bill Parcells has his own choice words for Jerry Jones. And maybe Jerry really doesn't see a place for Tim Tebow on the Dallas Cowboys.

Like it or not, this is active team ownership. Atleast it's not Al Davis overpaying overweight Divas or Dan Snyder trying to buy his way to a title.

Yeah, but Jerry succeeded in 1995 with Deion.

Not legally, but organizations like the NFL have a lot of latitude with phrases like "detrimental to the league..." and it's possible for an individual that feels slighted to claim liable or what ever and sue for damages. Maybe say I could have signed a bigger contract.... I don't know, just some thoughts.

The commissioner could determine that it is a violation of the league's conduct policy, much like a few months ago when the Titans' owner flipped the bird to fans of the opposing team. Punishment would likely be a written apology and a fine, or possibly (more likely) a sizable donation to a local charity.
