I don't know if we're on the same page or not, let alone the same book. I'm talking about whether it wouldve been feasible or wise to implement multitasking into OS3. I'm saying it wouldn't have been either.

Yes, I've been agreeing with you.

Ah. Reading you last post now in that light, I understand what you meant and agree. Apple is great at marketing their products, but when it comes down to it, if their products were not even half as enjoyable and easy to use, their marketing is useless. Just look at every phone that was ever marketed as an iPhone killer.

I think you are mistaken if you believe that Apple made those ads with the intention of people thinking that Macs "Generally" do that stuff. They market it in a way so that people will believe that it is absolute. Thinking otherwise is naive IMO.

So is that not "deceptive" too?
Well I never said that I supported Microsoft, and I remember there being a thread about these commercials in which I complained about them too (and so did you). But remember the recent commercials where people would get money to go buy a computer and they would buy a PC and not a Mac? Their reasons were stuff like "Mac's aren't as good for gaming" or "Macs are more about aesthetics" and mostly that they are expensive. All true statements!

Except that Apple has become their own Apple fanboy. They make products like the Macbook Air that serve no purpose except to make the fanboys go Ooooooh. Apple has become more of a status symbol than a company because of their marketing. IMO that's good for Apple, but bad for the consumer.

I still say cynical because he might argue that they could of had a different version of multitasking for it, but whatever I'm not going to argue for him and this has nothing to do with the iPhone really.

Actually none of this does haha so let's just call it quits

But that's not what I said. Of COURSE they want you to think it is absolute. It's marketing. EVERY company does it. Axe Body Spray want me to think that if I use their products, I'll absolutely be more extreme and attract more hot women. Toyota wants me to think their cars are absolutely reliable. To call that "deception" and fault the company for it would mean you'd have to fault ALL companies who EVER market their products, because they all try and stretch the truth in order to sell more.

And I'll leave it at that.

Then it would have been horrible, sucked battery life, and slowed down the phone. They not only took their time to get it right in software, they made sure they had the hardware to support it. Saying they should have released a feature earlier that would suck is not a rational argument. Even if his argument is that they literally were sitting on the technology for a year is irrational because 1) Why? And 2) Where is any sort of evidence of that fact other than your own personal speculation?

And I'll leave that point at that as well.

I never said that they were sitting on it for a year.
But I'm not going to argue anymore, either.
