The funny thing to me is that banh mi in Vietnamese just literally translates to "bread".

You could be talking about any sort of baking, really.

Coco's is my favorite tapioca place now. And I've been to lulu bee's as well, quite delicious.

I always called it bubble tea. Apparently everyone in Cali calls it boba, so I think that's starting to migrate up to the Seattle area, but I'll always call it bubble tea. I think tapioca isn't a drink, tapioca (cassava) is a plant.

Haha yeah not too entirely sure why it gets its different names. Some places down here also call the boba (or tapioca (or whatever the balls or called)) pearls. Only such a delicious drink will be allowed this many names.

Bubble tea is alright. My school has a large Asian population addicted to the stuff, but I get pretty sick of it after not too long... I prefer the really tea-like/more savory flavors, though. Unless the place uses real fruit for the fruit versions...

Well, sort of. That's more referring to milk tea with tapioca pearls, not really all bubble drinks. Most Vietnamese people I know just call it boba. Half the syllables.
