| Jekyll and Hyde V1 vs. V2 Has anyone had experience with both the old and new versions? I've hardly heard anything good about the new ones, but lots of reviews I've seen haven't specified. I have a V1; I'm just curious what the deal is.

| I've had both, and at the moment I have a V2 and I can't directly compare them, but as far as I know it is just as good as the old ones I've had (i've had all three different kinds too).

| Three kinds being three versions of the pedal? I wasn't aware there was a third, if that's what you meant.

| there were two older versions of the J&H, the silver and the red. They were in the same style of housing. The silver was the first one, and I believe it got a very slight upgrade when they moved to the red housing. I think they changed an op-amp or something, don't really remember, and they added the bass boost for the overdrive side. I don't know that there's much of any difference between the red V1 and the red V2. I've heard that there's supposed to be less noise in the V2, but I've never had a problem with noise in my red V1... I personally prefer the V1, simply because I don't like the new housing design for the V2. Personal preference really, plus it's harder to hit the outside two knobs with your feet, which I'm in the habit of doing a lot.

As you noted the changes were minor, but there were definitely differences from what I've read. The VS literature said that in addition to the bass boost on the OD side, the V1 red was supposed to use higher quality components and integrate popular user modifications. IIRC the rumor was that V1 Red was based on the mods done by Indyguitarist Pedals (now Wampler Pedals, I believe). |

| I like the look of the V1 red best, as I think the new one is really ugly, but it's what I got right now, and I have a feeling people will be willing to spend more on the new one compared to the old one (then again I could be wrong).
