Sprint EVO 4G coming this summer

WTH? Shouldn't it just be part of your data plan? I can get a mobile internet stick for like 30 (which isn't comparable without knowing how fast and the amount of gb, but it wouldn't tie up my phone or drain the phones battery).

I heard from someone on FB that 4g is only faster in open areas, and slower than 3g in crowded areas or inside homes. Is that possibly true?

Seems to me that the phone would automatically just select the network which was fastest and that wouldn't be a problem.. maybe I'm way off base though.

4G should be faster everywhere.

And yes, the Pre Plus (Verizon) does have free WiFi hotspot, which I find to be quite useful/fast even though I'm only on 3G.

lulz. Im guessing this is sarcasm because of the smilie. I say that because I knew tethering cost extra before I bought my phone simply by browsing the Sprint pages dealing with tethering. Then I asked the guy in the store and he confirmed that its extra.

Seriously, for anyone who needs to know about service costs for the EVO, its just going to be simpler to go to the website and read it.

I can tell you right now that without tethering, my monthly bill is supposed to be around 140 - 150 bucks IIRC. Thats with the SImply Everything plan coupled with Premium Data (extra 10 bucks).

Im getting better with mine, but if it werent for friends who already use Droid phones, id be totally lost. They are being real peaches and helping me make the most of my phone. Literally, after a week with it I cant see anyway to function without it. Im not certain how that happened, but it has.

Also, I highly recomend you get the Tikl app and set up your Qik account. They arent necessary, but they are pretty damn fun to use. And free!

I got a chance to play with this for a few minutes the other day. I knew it was big, but I was still shocked at the size of it. Nice and fast, though I wasn't able to try the front camera (Stupid lock over the model covered it) or 4G (Not in a coverage area)
