For our Aveo fans:

This thing just needs a turbo.

Two 180s is a 360... so he ended up back where he started. In a fence.

Oh my... the aveo5 is bad enough. the sedan version is unacceptable though. He would've been better off doing an engine swap that putting nitrous on it.

Yes, you're right, that car needs a different motor to torture the front tires with. One of the users on this site installed a Chevy 305 in his Lumina, maybe he has some engine swapping tips.

My point was that the Aveo's engine sucks so why upgrade it. You would be better off doing an engine swap if you want a really fast aveo. It'd be semi interesting (if you had loads of money) to take a non-threatening car and gut it and turn it into a monster. He obviously attempted that and failed.

And my point is why not start with an AWD Suzuki Swift, Toyota Matrix, or Subaru Legacy? Each car is light (by Mustang, 350Z and Supra standards), has a more than capable engine, and a superior drive train layout on top of the non-threatening looks shared by the inferior drive train layout of the FWD Aveo.

Because people are dumb? I'm not saying I would dump 10k in upgrades in an aveo.

I wouldn't dump $.01 into a FWD car.

Swift, Matrix, and Legacy might work. I'd be tempted to go with old bug or Mini for a light and non-threatening car. And no, the Mini would not stay FWD.

Other fun options would be older Triumph options, or perhaps a Midget/Sprite project.

My personal favorite: Datsun 510. It's like an E30, but lighter, cheaper, and with better swap options.
