| Anyone Ever Bought An Apple Refurb? So, I busted my iPod today. I put it in my pocket with my keys because I was in a hurry. Yeah, the screen got punctured, and it's virtually impossible to read now.
So, I want a new iPod. I looked at Apple's website, and i saw that a Refurbished 8GB iPod Touch was selling for $169. I was just gonna buy a new iPod Nano, but this seems like a better deal. Anyone know anything about Apple Refurbs? |

| I bought a refurbished 16 GB iTouch about a year ago and it's still working fine. I've not had a problem with it. It came in good condition and I still use it. It only had minor scratches on the back (about 2 or 3) which I didn't care about, I use cases anyway.
So I've had good luck with refurbished iPods. I've not had an issue yet.

| Ebay! My 30GB (5th generation) got the frowny face a few weeks ago so I checked out Ebay first. Picked up a 60GB (same generation) for $43 and sold my broken one for 20-some. People are always buying the broken ones for decent amounts.

| My wife bought her computer as a refurb from Apple. It's still running fine. I believe they take the entire product, fix it, and put it in a new casing so it looks brand new before you buy it. They come with the standard one year warranty, which on a refurb is better than most other companies. I wouldn't hesitate to do it.

| I bought a refurb nano several years ago (2nd gen) and it is still working. If I was buying a new iPod there is no way I WOULDN'T get a refurb (or use kijiji/craigslist).

| I think I'm gonna try to sell mine on craigslist for $20. Sound like a fair price? |

| I have a friend who bought a refurb macbook, same gen as mine. It isn't quite worth the price she paid. There seems to be some undetectable traceable issues that plague her computer with slowness. Apple won't do anything about it.
iPods should be fine though. Theres not much that could go wrong there.

| I guess I should've mentioned that my last iPod was a Woot.com refurb, and it lasted about a year. Of course, its demise was completely my doing. Definitely buying a hard case if I get an iTouch. |

| Sorry, meant to clarify mine was just used, not refurbed. Depending on the model you could likely get more than 20 for yours, but I can't say for sure.

| Well, it turns out, mine wouldn't even play. So, I think $20 was pretty good. |
