thats because its changing or adding a bypass cap. Its a sublte boost? They did a lot of different things to each amp. This mark one I had was really cool. It had a 5th preamp tube though. How many does your mark 2 have? I think this one I had used the extra half a triode for a killer gain boost. .It was a great amp. Your mentors? In westminster? Im been trying to get to Rock Harbor cause I hear they play loudly.

thanx

My mentor was buried out there. Whats funny is he bought his grave in the 50s in Westminster, when he lived in Long Beach, Moved to the central valley for about 40 years and died while living in Brea. He was quite an amazing and godly man. Was a really close friend for years, but he is buried there off of Beach.

The boost on the push pull pot is not very subtle, but it is bypassed and remains off if a footswitch is present... I am going to play around and take a peek and see if I can trace it from a schematic if I can find one. Since the fet-whatever assembly was right next to the footswitch, and the previous owner removed that, I am going to check for any obvious disconnects from the footswitch. I am guessing part of it is making a connection, but perhaps a single wire is loose.

I plan on trying out for the rock harbor worship team this year. Broke my middle finger the week before auditions last year on my left hand.

IIRC, The Mark 2a I have has 4x12ax7 and 1x12at7 for reverb.

Interesting, My father grew up in Long Beach then went to Korea and then died in 87 in Westminster. You have history here. Ill be praying for ya on the Rock Harbor thing. That should be a fun and challenging commitment. Im on the worship team at Pacific Coast, one of them that is. We have two. its uplifting and humbling at the same time

Mesas are actually known to have hypersensitive pots. One click may mean a difference in tones
