| The Skyline Social This is a band that me and some friends tried to get started last summer, but we ran out of time. We decided that for this summer we are going prepare BEFORE the summer so by the time it gets here we can just start playing shows like crazy.
The Skyline Social is a quintessential pop-punk band from Goshen, IN, with driving guitars, gang vocals, and lame lyrics. I play drums and sing.
There is a link at the bottom of the (VERY) rough recordings minus vocals that I made for the band to learn the songs. I just recorded all the instruments by myself as currently we are a few hours apart and they only know like three of those songs anyways as I've been writing a lot since I got to college. Over spring break we are going to try to get some better quality recordings to put up on our myspace. The recordings are far from great and some have a few beefs in them but they will give you a good idea of the sound we're going for. edit: please forgive me for the singing on "Micah, the beast of sleep." I am an AWFUL singer by myself but I needed to get the idea accross for the rest of the band so... just ignore the awful singing haha.
Edit: As of tonight we realized our bass player is going to be in europe all summer, so now I play guitar instead of drums haha.

| I listened to that Blindfold The Leaves song, it's really good man, lots of potential with you guys judging by that. But there was no vocals, if you guys can get ahold of a decent singer, that would be sweet. I'll have to check out the song with you singing yet.

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

I'm stoked for it for sure.

| Ok I added the "Micah, the Beast of Sleep" song to the myspace just so we'd have something on there. I just couldn't wait till next week . Feel free to add us if you so desire. I already have plans to record like 12 songs over next as well as have pictures taken by a very talented friend of mine (he likes being paid in T-Bell. Works for us). I'm super stoked for this.
Edit: Still feel free to listen to the super rough versions of the songs and offer any advice or whatever if you'd like.
In case people were curious about the lyrics for the Micah, The Beast of Sleep song, here they are:
Micah, the beast of sleep
He can take down anyone he meets
When he kills you he will not make a peep 2x
He's the fiercest being of death and darkness
He will beat you up and eat your mangled carcass
His favorite hobby is frolicking in flowers
He sits on stumble (upon) for hours and hours
Micah, the beast of sleep
Micah, the Beast of sleep
He gets turned down by every girl he meets
SO HE EATS THEM! 2x
He's the fiercest being of death and darkness
He will beat you up and eat your mangled carcass
His favorite hobby is frolicking in flowers
He sits on stumble for hours and hours
Micah, the beast of sleep
Dance for us Micah!
The anthem of our Micah basks in its almighty and glorious reign
We love that guy, we love that guy
His antics are a little strange but still our views of him don't change
We love that guy, we love that guy

| Recording is going FANTASTIC. We are still just doing it with our own stuff so it's not by any means the highest quality, but it is better than most local band's stuff I guess. We had a practice and good gravy it's so gnarly. By tomorrow night we should have four new songs up (including a cover song that you do not want to miss).

But foreeldo, we had vocal practice today to the recorded t00ns and I think we're going to record them tonight and I guess maybe it's just because this is my first band that I've ever been in charge of everything for, but I'm more excited for this than any other band I've been in.

| I've really debated putting these recordings on the myspace, as well, the vocals are just baaaaaaaaaaaaad haha (that's what happens when you try recording two people that just aren't very talented in the singing area haha), but I think I will anyways just for the sake of people getting the idea of the songs (although I won't start advertising the band until we get better vocals down). I do plan to re-do them myself tomorrow so they'll sound a bit better, but for now this is all I got haha. Please don't judge the singing, I swear when we play live it sounds fine haha.
So long story short, go check out the myspace and the new songs, ha.
Edit: I changed a bit of the vocals, also realized I really didn't mix much of anything but... whatevs.
