| I'm not a fan of Behringer. I played on one and it sounded mediocre but for the price I'm pretty sure you can get something that sounds better and is more reliable.

| I thought it sounded great for the price. Real cool boutiqey breakup sound, kinda like a Dr. Z- obviously not perfect, but for vintage tube tone the price is hard to beat. Nothing comes to mind when I try to think of something better for the same price and same or almost same features.

For years I used a typical off-the-shelf bar-type soap and I had no idea that, even though I rinsed properly and thoroughly after every cleansing, there was still a soap scum residue on my hands and fingers.
This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |

I played one of those at GC for like an hour. I couldn't get a good tone out of it without using active pickups.

The reviews I've read of them have been overwhelmingly positive. |

The reviews I've read of them have been overwhelmingly positive. | I spent a good amount of time at GC playing some amps. I eventually decided on the Blackstar HT-5, but the Bugera was one that I tried. All I had available were stock pickups in the guitars on the rack, so I have no idea how it would have sounded with my own guitar, but the people that are looking for an amp in that price range probably aren't outfitting their guitars with upgraded pickups. I used a guitar with EMGs first, and I was VERY impressed by the Bugera. But, then I realised that I don't own a guitar with EMG's, and I should try something with passive pickups. I was instantly turned off upon plugging in, and no amount of messing with the tone knobs made up for the fact that the amp sounded weak and lacking.

I was like "holy crap, this thing is usable", played one again later and the shock wore off and I was like "yup this thing's a behringer".
