Finally, new amp day!

I literally just got back from getting my new (to me) USA Fender Blues Junior! I'm from around Indianapolis, and I had to drive all the way to Cincinnati OH to get it (about a 3 hour drive one way), but it was totally worth it. I haven't gotten to play it other than like 2 minutes at the guy's house as my roommate is asleep, but I can assure you I'm beyond stoked to fully test this baby out. It looks to be in great condition and is lookin' like it's going to sound KILLER. I just cannot wait for tomorrow to test it out. Now not only do I have this killer Fender 2x12 M-80 chorus amp that has wicked cleans, but I also have the Blues Junior that is lookin' to sound gnarly. AH I'm so stoked haha.

Edit: and I also got a free DS-1 to mess around with. Maybe I'll try to mod it or something... Does SBN do mods of other pedals?

I drove the hour to get to his place to get it, and the first time he "thought" we were just meeting to discuss how the deal would go down (riiiight...). The second time I drove the hour to get there he wouldn't answer my phone no matter how many times I called him. I tried calling him from a different phone and as soon as I said who I was he hung up. So I got the vibe that that poofter didn't want to sell his amp...

Yeah it did for sure. Even worse was the first day I had my friend from a school about 2 hours away come pick me up to take me as my car was in the shop, so I payed him like $30 for the gas as throughout the entire trip it used all of his gas. It was pretty lame. I'm over it though, as now I have this beauty. And I am pretty sure the 4x10 would have been way too loud anyway...

I hope you got a steal on it because a 6 hour round trip is insane for gear unless it's a really good deal.

Very nice! I love those amps.

Personally I think you're better off with the BJ than with the HRDeville

I just made a 4 hour round trip to buy a Rhodes piano last night...

But then again, it's a freaking Rhodes.

Don't mean to derail the thread. Congrats.

I got it for $350. I know it's not the best deal ever and they can be found cheaper, but I needed the amp fairly quick as well as it's not THAT bad of a deal haha. I know the drive sounds far but I went with a friend and it was a really good time so it was totally worth it!

They average about that on Ebay when you include the shipping so it's not that bad a deal if it's in good condition. I got mine for $340 with free shipping. At least you didn't have to worry about UPS losing it on you. They delivered mine to the wrong apartment complex. Luckily, after questioning the UPS driver the next day, I was able to retrieve it from an honest guy who thought he was holding it for his next door neighbor. Next time I look for used equipment I might just be willing to drive 6 hours just for piece of mind because that whole fiasco really stressed me out.

Congrats

Ah shoot I forgot you were from Cincinnati! In all honesty I probably would have tried to plan a quick meeting at least (maybe pick up an Attenuator ) but it was such a short notice thing that I for sure didn't have time. I left here at 7pm and got back around 1:30ish haha. Actually now that I realize how not too far of a drive it is from you, maybe there actually will be a Major Tom Attenuator in my future...

Boy am I digging this thing. I have only gotten to play it at dorm room levels so far which has not been even close to bad, but golly am I stoked to crank this thing (BDAB here I come).
