The original question needs to be rephrased to "Who is your favorite worship leader?".
That's it. Simple. Straight forward.

If the original question had been asked back when that "Healer" song was first written and somewhat popular, I'm sure that dude would have gotten some votes on his alleged "Worshipers Heart".

Hahaha....that guy is one of the reasons (along with finding their music to be extra boring) I've never been able to get into Planetshakers.

The name "Planetshakers" wasn't enough of a reason?

It's a weird name, but not any worse than "Hillsong", "Vineyard", "Jesus Culture" or any of the other popular worship church movements going on IMO.

Right, but God never set himself up as the judge of bunned meats, and Jesus never admonished anyone for being concerned with which is best.

Right. I think we're just reading the posts differently. When I read a person write, "I favor Robin Mark". I read it as, "I like what Robin Mark is doing with their ministry and identify with it", not "Robin Mark is the holiest of the worship leaders".

Maybe this is something for another thread, but isn't this how we often select the churches we end up attending? When we are searching for a church and choose one church to be our home church over others, aren't we favoring that church over others?

thesteve,
you are right when you intrepreted what I said when I said "i favor Robin Mark". I do like what their ministry is doing.I should have been more clear in one thing. I don't know what his spiritual life is really like, so how can I
say anything else than "I like the music Robin Mark does".

The problem is with the initial question "which worship leader best represents a worshiper's heart". That's a whole different question than who is your favorite worship leader. As long as the discussion stays towards the latter (which it has) and away from the initial question, I think it's fine.

I think it depends totally on the motivations of those involved.

If their motivations were to either argue for their own greatness or to place someone on a pedestal of holiness to be revered and wondered at, then there's a problem.

If it's to point out people who are doing things well for the edification of people trying to do the same things well, it seems fine to me.

That last comment was in reference to BobTheCockroach's post in response to mine. CGR is being retarded and not letting me use the quote function.
