The Trinity sounds best when run as a compliment to a dirty amp, rather than it's own dirt, IMO.

I realize it's a bunch of pedal stomping to do this, but the best sound I got out of my HR Deluxe was running the J&H into the gain channel. The Jekyll by itself sounded good while the drive channel by itself was rather meh. Both together was definitely the best though.

I agree. It broke up my AC15 very nicely when the amp was already being pushed.

That would be a great deal on that amp if it works out. I have that same amp, and yes it is LOUD. With the 4x10 config, to my ears the clean channel sounds like a Super Reverb, but in a smaller and lighter package. Guys complain about the Drive channel's distortion or lack thereof, I think it has more gain than "vintage tone" players like, but not enough for the full-on distortion guys. I lowered the gain in mine for a more overdriven rather than distortion tone by putting a 12AT7 in V2, and I really like the sound of that channel with strats and teles...not as much with LP's / humbuckers. I also put a power attenuator in mine to help tame the volume, and a couple switchable voicing mods. It could be modded for mega gain if desired, it has 4 preamp stages in the drive channel. Probably lots of mods are on the net for that amp.

I never get to use it anymore since I have only been playing at church, but there is a "pro" country band that wants me to join...if that happens, I'll be blowing the cobwebs out of it very soon.

Well I just acquired an old Fender M80 Chorus for $25, so I guess this will keep me entertained until I get the money for my half stack and can buy that deville (if he ever responds).

Edit: This Deville deal is looking good. I reaaaalllly hope this works out.

Double edit: We have a planned meeting for Saturday. Ahhhhh this is going to happen!

Mini new amp day. This is the amp with the rattling speaker (I took it off the cab so I could sell the cab without any problems with it). Even with the rattle it sounds KILLER.

But in the back of my mind I know the Deville I'm getting on Saturday will just be even better

Edit: Wow, this amp is surprsiginly giving me that clean I always wanted. So sparkly and... awesome. Who would have thought some old solid state fender would have killer clean eh? haha. I would say now I can not worry so much about the amp I'm going to get having killer cleans as I could just AB them, but taking two amps everywhere would just be silly with how big they are.

I had a plan for saturday to meet the guy with the deville to buy it, but my car died last night at ihop and is still stuck there. I'm praying I can get it fixed by saturday.
