| Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Yep. And it looks like they're going back to their 2D roots. I wonder if NSMBWii inspired this at all. I think this is a great idea. I love 2D platformers. Anyway, the game will be available on PSN, Xbox LIVE Arcade and WiiWare this summer. It won't be released all at once—rather Sega plans on releasing it one episode at a time.
Here's a bit of leaked gameplay: Leaked Video and Screens Reveal Levels in Sonic the Hedgehog 4

| 1Up took the leaked stuff down
I'm definately interested to see how this ends up panning out. However, I am a bit leary of the episodic way they're releasing it.

| Geeze, they pulled it before I got a chance to look at it. Oh well, I'm still interested in it. I'll probably wait and see what the reviews are though before I officially jump on it.

| Not something I would ever pay 60 bucks for, but that sounds awesome.

| Oooooh! I'm very excited! Growing up, the only games I ever played until I beat them (because I loved them so much) were Super Mario Bros. for NES and Sonic 2 for Sega Genesis.

| Some days you just have to laugh at people on the internet. Like Sonic fans who are planning to boycott Sonic 4 by purchasing Sonic 1.

| I am hoping the plan to release the game in installments--"episodes"--will cause the crew not to rush the game in any way and will raise the quality of the completed work overall. After all, Sonic 3 & Knuckles is arguably the franchise's best game overall, and it was split into two games because a deadline had to be met. |

| I have got sonic games on my Xbox like Sonic 1 and 2 and knuckles. These games were brilliant when we were small but for this age this games only last five minutes. |

| It looks good so far, I'll definitely buy it. I'm glad to see that Sonic is returning to his 2D roots. |
