| what do you mean by "healthy"...like lower carb, low calorie, or just healthy in the generic sense? well, this is my recipe for a generic healthy shake.
1/2 banana
1/2 cup skim milk
3 strawberries
1/2 cup orange juice
a few ice cubes...
blend until smooth consistency...enjoy.

It least when I make my smoothies I have to add a ton of sugar to make it taste good, but thats probably because I put ice cream in it normally. But thanks for the recipe, I'll try it out whenever I have all those!

| I use yogurt, fresh fruit and ice in my smoothies. you can use whatever combinations you like, but I prefer to use peach-flavored yogurt as my base. and...I only use yoplait, which is higher in sugar than other brands of yogurt, but oh well.
a typical smoothie looks something like:
1 individual container of peach yogurt
a handful of ice cubes, more if needed
fresh strawberries
fresh blackberries or raspberries, if available
if I don't have fresh fruit, I use frozen fruit (berries are my favorite) and use less ice. super easy. =) |

| Here is one I make that is quite good (serves 2)
1 Frozen banana (sliced)
1 1/2 scoops chocolate protein shake mix (a carnation instant breakfast will work)
5-6 frozen strawberries
1 cup of ice (or not quite)
enough skim milk to cover ingredients (this will vary... mine is super wide. I would guess it's like 2 cups?)
it's pretty good

| All of the smoothies I make include ice and vanilla yogurt.
My favorite ones are made with strawberries, kiwi and bananas. I also like them with rasberries and blueberries sometimes.
I never add a specific amount of any ingrediant, just whatever feels right at the time. I am one of those people that do not really like sticking to recipes for anything |
