Bassist Offering (free) Services

Dear Mods: Throw this where ever you wish..wasn't sure where to put it.

So here is the deal.
I'm 20 years old, and have been playing bass for the last 10 years. In the last two years I recorded just two songs with my one original band, then I played bass on another buddies EP.
Since then I've decided I really want to pursue session work as a career. My plan was to stick around my city for the next yearish (basically, as soon as I have enough cash to support myself for a bit after I'm 21) then take off to LA and see what I can do.
Before I take off I really want a decent sized portfolio of stuff to make it as easy as possible when I get down there.
I was hoping to find work in my city, but there really just isn't much.

So, if you are doing any recording - something to sell, just some demos, personal use, what ever - and you need a bassist, I'd really love if you'd let me take a crack at it.
If it's an album you're going to be selling and making cash on, we'd have to talk but other then that if its just some demoing or for fun to put up online or anything I'm more then happy to do it for free as long as I can use it to promote myself.

If you want to hear two songs I did for the EP, check out Matt Ward | Facebook
I play on Jet Plane and Thrift Shopping. Pretty basic stuff, but it was still fun.
Also, just found the two songs I recorded with my old band. These were done probably about two years ago now and was for this recording school, it was the final project for these two dudes to record us so it was very quickly done due to the time restraints of the project and them being new. Also, it's unmastered so you'll have to turn up your speakers a bit.

And my first recording ever, from about 6 and a half years ago: http://www.filesavr.com/12the59thstreetbridgesong

Thanks for the read, all!

NOTE:
Electric bass only. Sadly I don't do stand up.

I'm moving this to the Bass section.
I think you could get away with this in the Classified section (and more traffic probably), but you should get permission from a Smod first. I know if you are advertising your business of some sort, you need permission from a Smod to put it in the Classifieds. I'll give one of them a shout, it will work out better that way.

Good luck!

EDIT*
I just realized that it may also be able to fit into the Music Business forums. Oh well, it's the Bass Mod's problem now.

I was thinking about bass, but figured only bassists would see it there.
Either way, thanks for sending a message to an SMod!

Sorry about that, I didn't even think of that. *dumb*
Anyway, Skeeter should get back about the issue sometime today hopefully.

I might actually be interested in your services. Do you do punk rock?

In any case, I'll move this to Classifieds. Seems to fit there best.

I actually saw this in GD and thought it moving it to Bass or Classifieds, but figured you'd get more face time in GD...

that being said, Classifieds is probably the best place for it.

O.K. Micahb,
So here's the thing I play bass myself but not well enough for recording (yet), I am looking to get a band together (CCM, gospel, worship). I have a guitarist, can get a drummer, know two good studios, have an EP I need to redo + 46 other copywrited songs I would like to do. I am very interested in your services so I can concentrate on what I do best sing. If you are serious e-mail me at JACallender@hotmail.com. To here the EP and some other songs I've done go to JACk120 on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads. Hope to hear from you.
