After a lot of messing with all manner of blues licks, I've ended up with something a bit more idiosyncratic... By that I mean droney arpeggios drowning in a sea of reverb and delay.

I've also included it in the mix, in case you needed to hear that.

I'm not used to latency problems because I use an outside source to record. (My Fostex recorder) so everything is always set up. Sorry about that. lol

I fixed the harmonica thing, at first I was totally confused about it and I finally figured out why nothing sounded right. After I got the latency thing fixed on that one it sounded pretty good

Okay, that helps. I suspected it a bit on that one. Hey, I might move yours either right before or close to gtrdave's. The two of you used the least amount of gain so I think they will fit together better.

Is that just a mixer? I don't believe that's a full fledged audio interface (ex: Mbox stuff, line 6 pod farm interfaces, presonus stuff) If so that's probably why you are getting latency problems.

Okay, if everyone liked the slide part just like it was I will leave it without effects. To my ears it just sounded a bit more harsh than I normally like, but that's just my opinion so I'll get rid of the effects.

The interface is on the floor out of sight. A Behringer UCA-202. None of the laptop's audio is used now, just the UCA.

Use a F# minor pentatonic scale. The honest answer is "you're not ready for that yet" though.

That's only if you are playing in a major, (country-ish, but not exactly, listen to #4 on the track (my second solo) that's a major. The rest of our stuff is mostly F# min pentatonics.

What to solo? That is a personal choice. But, how about an idea to get you started.

Play an F#, 4 times per measure, for the entire 16 bars. Boring? Yes, but that is just a start. Now, mix up the rhythm, while still just using F#. Where 'da' is picking the note: daaa, dada dada dada. Do you see where I am going with this? Just experiment.

If you listen closely to my harp solo, I am using a basic 1-4-5 method. I chord, IV chord and V chord. When I go high, that is just the I chord an octave up. I filled in between the transitions. I treated it like a blues solo.

Sounds like you took a bit of a page out of Sean's book on that one, Bill.

@LC7, Thanks. If y'all are interested, I whipped that together from a clean tone from my PODxt Live, and most of the effects (including a bit of overdrive) are from VSTs in my DAW.

I may redo it...

I had a bit of frustration from the morning finding my interface wasn't working (drivers seem to have died in a windows update)

I'll redo it.

Whoops! The "D" is right next to the "F" on the keyboard. Sorry! Typo!
