Wanting A Bass

Ok, I've come to the conclusion that I miss having a bass guitar. About two years ago, I had been borrowing one from my church, and I decided it was time to give it back and focus on my guitar playing. Well, I miss it. That bass was a Ibanez 5 string.

My girlfriend has a bass amp, so I'm looking strictly for a bass. I really don't have much cash, unless I sell my banjo, so what's a good cheap bass to look for? I just want a 4 string model for my own enjoyment, and maybe some fill-in time at church.

Let's say priced about $150, obviously looking to buy used.

Oh, and Memphis Craigslist is useless, unfortunately.

Go for one of these:

SX Ursa 1 RN BK at RondoMusic.com
SX SJB-57 3TS Sunburst at RondoMusic.com
SX Ursa 3 RN CAR at RondoMusic.com
SX SPJ Ash at RondoMusic.com

Cheap, actually pretty good, and easily modifiable.

best bass under $200 i've found is this

Ibanez GSR200 4-String Bass and more 4 String Electric Bass at GuitarCenter.com.

Plays much better then any other bass i've played around its price. look used if you can afford it new. try craigslist from any close area, or any music store could have a used one, also check ebay i suppose

I second those SX models. Really good guitar for the money.

Does this look like a good deal to anyone?
Epiphone All Access Thunderbird Bass Pack Open Box New - eBay (item 390142484985 end time Jan-17-10 08:20:08 PST)

Assuming the bass is in the box, it's the full thing for $80.

The bass isn't in the box. The Epiphone All Access packs include everything except the bass.

Yeah, I just figured that out. I just thought it was strange, because the box has the Thunderbird name on it. i didn't see any logic in attaching the name to the amp pack.

I'm seeing some good craigslist deals on Peavey basses, but I don't really know anything about them. Any thoughts?

If it's MIA and under $300 it's probably a very solid bass. Their import line seems to carry a less reputable history.

That's what I have and would recommend, great bass for the money and works well for me. They're a little over $200.00 new so finding one for $150 should be no problem used.

It is purple and shiny and an RBX270 that has barely been used in the 5 or so years I have owned it.
