nimrod's actually used as a last name in my culture: John J. Nimrod - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

someone should name their kid hezekiah. or nehemiah. seriously!

there's also...lois and phoebe. and hephzibah. and...esau. and terah. and tamar and rahab. and nahum! and habbakuk! and zephaniah. there are so many zachs running around...what about a zeph!

I plan on using Ezekiel as a middle name.

But here are some biblical names:
Abel Beth Maacah 1 Kings 15:20

Almon Diblathaim Numbers 33:46

Ashurbanipal Ezra 4:9

Merodach-Baladan 2 Kings 20:12

Helkath Hazzurim. 2 Samuel 2:16* My personal favorite.

Onan, Ehud, Ananias, Mephibosheth, Shishak, Theophilous, Barnabas, Silas are also good.

Mahershalalhashbaz. Yes, it is a biblical name and it was the name of our cat for a while as kids.

once upon a time in my early days here I posted a translation of mahershalalhashbaz. it's totally inaccurate (which I knew at the time) but I found it rather amusing. =)

I have a little sister named Gentle. It took a little getting used to but I like it now. We just call here Gentie usually. I don't think that there is anyone in the Bible w/ that name, but it is a virtue that came from God and he wrote the Bible.

I have a friend who just had a daughter and named her Hope. Hope has an older sister named Faith. I guess you can see where they're going with this. Faith, Hope, and Charity.

My mom's co-worker's name is Charity. Her parents did the same thing.

I've been pushing for Zadok since our first child and needless to say, have still gotten nowhere by our fourth. bah! it has such a ring to it...

2 Samuel 8:17 17 Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was secretary;
