My telecaster has standard vintage style tuners on it and I've changed strings inbetween songs in a set without even taking the guitar off.

What guage strings are you using?
i've always used tens. i had it setup at a local shop for tens about 5 months ago.

at that shop they string it by just putting it through, leave some slack, push down near the nut, and turn.

but ive heard theres a better way to do that. No one has ever showed me how to string.

Rainer, are you still going to put up that video?

I tried last night a few times but my connection kept not agreeing with me. I think I might have to try again this weekend when I find a better internet connection...

I think if I work fast, though, I can get through one string in two minutes, fully tuned up and stretched. That means a 12 minute set... not bad.

Usually you only break one string on stage.... thus, you only need to replace one..... rather than all six.

Then again, I can't remember the last time I broke a string....
